B-24M Liberator
In August 2000, at the start of their B24 restoration project the Imperial War Museum asked Copyzone Archiving to convert 30,000 drawings on film and make them accessible from a PC using Optical Character Recognition (OCR) techniques to find any document in under two seconds.
The work started in August 2000. 30 CDs were delivered back to the Imperial War Museum at their Duxford site later that year for use by the restoration team and the restoration project was completed in 2004.
Chris Chippington, Museum Curator, says “Copyzone's work will allow us to locate, view and print any drawing very quickly. This was of significant importance to the B24 restoration project. "
Copyzone now has in excess of 24,000 B-24M Liberator technical drawings and plans available for restorers and model makers worldwide.
